Exercising At Your Peak

Do You Know Your Peak Time?

Some of us are early birds, and some of us want to shoot the early birds for being so chipper in the morning. When it comes to exercising, it's important to be aware of your body's natural clock. Pick the time when you feel the strongest and most energized to exercise. You will be more likely to stick to your fitness goals!

Aware of Your Immortal Self

Be Aware of Your Immortal Self

Let go of the idea that you're a body that's destined to die, and instead seek an awareness of your immortal self.

Affirm: "I am eternal, and that means that I showed up here from the infinitude of spiritual intention to fulfill a destiny that I must act on."

Fitness Tip of the Week #1

Keep Your Muscles On Their Toes!

Variety is important to weight training because muscles are forced to adapt to changes. Simple tweaks are all it takes to keep your muscles guessing. There are many easy ways to mix things up in the weight room. One way is to add more weight.

Try that, or try decreasing weight while increasing number of sets. Another way is to try decreasing the amount of time between sets to make your workout a bit harder. Or you can try to superset your exercise -- perform one exercise after another with little or no break in between. If you normally lift dumbbells, then try a resistance training machine for a change. Like machines? Give good old iron-pumping a try, or work in some old-fashioned calisthenics.

Walk The Talk

I'd like to share the "Cadet Prayer" that is repeated during chapel services at the U.S. Military Academy:
"Make us to choose the harder right instead of the easier wrong, and never to be content with a half truth when the whole truth can be won. Endow us with the courage that is born of loyalty to all that is noble and worthy, that scorns to compromise with vice and injustice and knows no fear when truth and right are in jeopardy."
That is truly the essence of courage.

Follow Your Dream and You Follow Your Passion

Do You Walk the Walk

Many of us expect to be treated with respect, dignity and even appreciation. But the question becomes, "Do you show respect, have dignity for others and let them know that he or she is appreciated?" If you answered "no, maybe not all of the time". Then I certainly encourage you to watch this video. If everyone lived by these few simple rules we would live in a much better, safer and happier place.

"Consult not your fears but your hopes and dreams. Think not about your frustrations, but about your unfulfilled potential. Concern yourself not with what you tried and failed in, but with what is still possible for you to do.."
